CAT | SET BUILDING FOR DANCE

SET BUILDING FOR DANCE /

Set Building for Dance / workshop leads by: Jonathan Pope (USA)

What would you love to see on stage with your dance? A large blue ball on wheels floating in a forest? A purple carpet hanging from the ceiling? In this workshop, we will explore creative ways to solve set design problems. We focus on finding inexpensive materials, tools to use, and meeting your artistic goals. If you are a choreographer or working in theater this workshop will open your eyes to new worlds for your dances. This workshop is for anyone who is interested in set design and construction. Participants will create drawings; a scale model, material list, budget, and construction plan for their project. An emphasis will be on finding low cost environmentally sustainable set materials. Strategies for repurposing the set after the showing to minimize the environmental impact of theater construction will also be discussed.

COST:
Set Building for Dance (28th – 30th June) 50 USD / 50 Euro
